"We was like peas and carrots again"

So I stumbled across one of my all time favorite movies playing on TV tonight. I hardly watch the tube anymore because I'm so busy (phew!), but I'm glad that the one night I decide to take a seat and pretty much do nothing... Forrest Gump is on. This movie seriously makes me so happy every single time. I can't really count the number of times I've seen it, but I know that when it comes on again, I'll most likely cancel all plans so I can watch it... I'm not joking.

I really enjoy watching this movie more when it happens to be aired on TV, instead of me deciding to watch it on DVD. I don't know why, but it makes me love watching it more because it happened spontaneously. Who doesn't love a surprise!? It's the exact same thing when one of my favorite songs plays on the radio (well, that hardly ever happens now, considering most of what's playing on the radio sucks)... Anyway, I can pretty much listen to that same sentimental song over and over again on my computer or Ipod, but when it pops up on the radio, it feels new again. I think everyone knows what I'm talking about. I think the only thing that I enjoy on the radio are the oldies, NPR & KCRW... pretty much sums it up.

Anywho, I don't think I need to go into great detail about what the movie is about... come to think of it, I don't think I have to explain it at all. If you haven't seen it already, you should probably punch yourself in the face several times. That's all I'm saying. A short tid-bit of my thoughts on this beautiful movie- how can someone not enjoy a character as kind and endearing as Forrest's character? Really... If I ever meet anyone that comes close to Forrest, I'll make sure to keep him close. I could probably write an entire piece on this movie... but I will refrain.

[PS- One single reason that stands alone in making this movie even more spectacular... the soundtrack. Soo glad I stumbled across one at a local thrift store. Still sounds wonderful =]

** Side note: I've been sucking major on the NPR weekly picks. Trust me, I hate myself for it. I will make it up soon. Since it's more of a thing that I wanted to start doing for myself, to keep updated and what not, I am even more bummed. **
